How to Cancel CBS Subscription?

CBS All Access is one of the many video streaming services on the market, offering its own share of unique content that cannot be watched anywhere else. However, the sheer size of the market in question makes it possible that you might want to stop using CBS at some point – and we'll go over all the different subscription cancellation methods in this article.

The market of video streaming services is quite saturated these days, with each service offering something unique to its audience in terms of content. While there are several different popular options, like Netflix or HBO, there are also a few of the less known services – such as CBS All Access.

The wealth of video streaming service means that there's quite a lot of content segregation, so there might come a time when you'd want to cancel your subscription – for pretty much any reason, it doesn't really matter, since the reason for cancelling does not change the method that you'll use to cancel this subscription.

As with many other services, CBS offers a free trial before actually billing you the price for the service, and there are no drawbacks to cancelling a subscription at this point. On the other hand, if you've been billed for a month already, you can't really get that money back, even if you decide to cancel the subscription altogether.

CBS does not really have some unique way of cancelling a subscription. There is one "default" way to do that, and a few alternatives that you may use interchangeably, depending on the circumstances. The most basic way of cancelling your subscription would probably be with the help of CBS website.

How to cancel CBS subscription with a website?

First thing you'll have to do is to get to the CBS website (and sign in, as well). After that, you'll be able to see your account name at the top of the screen, and a small arrow near it. This arrow hides a drop-down menu that you have to access by clicking said arrow.

The drop down menu in question offers three main options – "Account", "Help" and "Sign Out". To get access to the subscription management menu, we'll have to click the "Account" option. This would allow you to access a separate page that contains all of your account settings.

This particular page has a lot of different settings, but the ones we're looking for are located in the "Subscription & Billing" category. Here, we have to search for the "Subscription" line, as well as the "Cancel Subscription" link that we have to click.

This is where the process can be slightly different depending on a chance – you might be offered a discount or a free service in exchange to keep using the CBS subscription, and you'll probably be asked to complete an optional survey, as well. Clicking "No Thanks" on all of the enticing free service offers and clicking "Yes, Cancel" is the right order of things if you want your subscription to stop.

How to cancel CBS subscription with Apple and Android devices?

As with many other subscription services, CBS has a lot of alternatives when it comes to payment methods and, subsequently, subscription cancellation methods. For example, you may have paid for your CBS subscription using either Apple Pay or Google Pay – this makes it possible for you to manage and cancel CBS subscription using App Store or Google Play Store, respectively.

When it comes to iOS, the process of cancelling your subscription at both iPads and iPhones is rather similar for most subscription services:

  1. Your device's "Settings" menu is where we'll be starting this rather simple process;

  2. Your Apple ID name, as well as your profile picture, should be located at the top of the first "Settings" menu page. Tap your Apple ID to get to the "Account" menu;

  3. The "Account" menu on your iOS device has several different options and settings, but we're looking for the "Subscriptions" menu. Tap it to proceed;

  4. As the name suggests, a "Subscriptions" menu lists all of the subscriptions that are currently active and tied to your Apple ID – and you can choose this same menu to tap any of the subscriptions and cancel them whenever you want.

Unlike the CBS website, Apple does not have any additional steps between the first time clicking the "Cancel subscription" button and confirming the operation.

While we're on the topic of Apple devices, it is also rather helpful to know how to cancel CBS subscriptions using a Mac device. You may have to use different applications depending on your macOS version (since the iTunes app has become obsolete since macOS Catalina), but the process is still pretty much the same.

All you have to do is to open either the iTunes app or the App Store app, click your Apple ID, go to your account settings and find the "Subscriptions" menu. After that, the process is identical to what was described above – allowing you to cancel any subscription in just a few clicks. When it comes to Apple TV – you can use pretty much the same procedure as described above, too.

As for the Android devices, it is even easier to cancel CBS subscription there:

  1. Open your Google Play Store app (and log in if prompted);

  2. You can get a large list of possible options if you click on your profile picture at the top of the screen;

  3. On that list, you can see the "Payments & subscriptions" category, you'll have to tap that to proceed;

  4. This is a section that combines four different menus, but the one we're looking for is the "Subscriptions" menu;

  5. As with the iOS devices, the "Subscription" menu has all of your subscriptions and you're free to cancel or pause any of them in that same menu.

Please note that you may have to give a reason for your subscription cancellation, but it is always optional and does not restrict you from cancelling your CBS subscription in any way.

How to cancel CBS subscription with Amazon Prime?

 That pretty much covers mobile devices – but how can you cancel your CBS subscription that was billed through different services, like Amazon Prime? It is still a rather simple process, as well:

  1. Go to Amazon's main website and log in. After that, you should be able to force a large drop down menu to appear after hovering over your name at the top of the page;

  2. In this list of options, we're looking for one called "Memberships & Subscriptions", click it to proceed;

  3. As with several other examples, "Memberships & Subscriptions" is an umbrella page that offers several different settings groups. The one we're looking for is "Channel Subscriptions";

  4. After that, you'll have to look for the category called "Prime Video Channels" and scroll through them to find your CBS subscription. Clicking "Actions > Cancel Channel" should give you the ability to cancel your CBS subscription.

How to cancel CBS subscription with Roku?

Roku Pay is also an option when it comes to the ways to bill your CBS subscription. To cancel it, you'll have to follow a similar process to what we've done with Amazon – go to Roku's website, log in, find an option called "Manage your subscriptions" and find CBS in the list. That's how easy it is to cancel your CBS subscriptions through Roku.

How to cancel CBS subscription with Fire Stick?

Amazon's website is also not the only alternative when it comes to subscription cancellation – you can also cancel a subscription using a Fire Stick. All you have to do is to open the Amazon App Store and then open the menu in it. The menu allows you to choose an option we're looking for called "Subscriptions". There, you'll be able to see all of your subscriptions that can be connected to this device and your Amazon account – and cancel them in any order. And that's pretty much the end of the entire process.

How to cancel CBS subscription via phone call?

Going for a bit less obvious method, you can actually cancel your CBS subscription using a phone call. The number you're looking for is 888-274-5343 – it's the CBS Subscription Service number. It is pretty much the most time-consuming method in the entire article, since you'll have to both tell your account information to the operator and to answer relevant queries.

This approach also does not work if your subscription with CBS was not billed directly – billing through third-party vendors cannot be reversed with this method. Speaking of phone calls and older methods, there are actually a few of different ways that your CBS subscription can be shown in your bill – but it's always going to show some variation of their phone number (888-274-5343), as well as the name of the service (CBS ALL ACCESS).
